The gathering ended last night. Early, which I have *never* witnessed before; we had the venue thoroughly cleaned up and closed fully two hours before the scheduled end of the event. I have a feeling that partying carried on at the bars, but natch that's more for the youngns ... I was so tired I was in that tired/wired state. Went to sleep at 9:30 and slept most of 10 hours.

It was good, on the whole. I managed to socialize enough to feel reconnected with the larger group. There was minimal grandstanding although of course there are always people who are ON so you never really get a genuine sense of them (unless you can say that being fake is who they really are ... I'm perennially annoyed by the way some people talk about weekend workshops as if TADA! YOU HAVE ACCESSED YOUR SHADOW SELF AND ARE NOW A FULLY REALIZED UBERMESNCH! now let's make a show of thanking the elders and Coyote and Mother Earth oh and let's not forget to thank meeeee for all the work I put into this).

So now that I'm a fully realized Ubermensch, I'll do all the housework I've neglected over the weekend. Weeding! Already!

[edit] Much weeding and picking up done. The blue lace cap hydrangea is no more; in its place will be Aquilegia formosa and Tellima grandiflora, both natives. Cypripedium formosanum is already poking its nose above the leaf litter, very early this year.

This is nerdy and not a relevant reply but I just like the way you write your life in entries. People who are "always on" ...I get that completely and it describes a person I had to share a space with for an hour today.

Glad to hear the Gathering was a good time and even ended early, which is indeed quite a surprise. I only attended a 3 hour Saturday afternoon heart circle at the local event. I enjoyed it, and there was some good sharing. And a couple of people in need of serious professional help, as is often the way.

Maybe I'll write more about it one evening later on in the week. Today has been a very long day. I don't mind being sixty-five years old but I fade out sooner than used to be the case.
